Payment transactions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect or store any credit card, banking, or financial payment information.

4. Data Storage & Third-Party Services

Your data is stored using the following third-party services:

4.1 Firebase (Google)

• Firebase Authentication — manages user authentication securely
• Cloud Firestore — stores your pet data, health records, journal entries, and settings
• Firebase Cloud Storage — stores uploaded images (profile photos, pet photos, journal images)

Firebase is operated by Google LLC. Data may be processed in data centers located in the European Union or the United States. Google complies with applicable data transfer mechanisms. For more information, see Firebase Privacy Policy.

4.2 Google Sign-In

If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google. We do not access any other Google account data.

4.3 Apple App Store

Subscriptions and payments are handled by Apple. We do not have access to your payment details. See Apple's Privacy Policy.

4.4 Hosting

The website notes4pets.app is hosted by OVHcloud (2 Rue Kellermann, 59100 Roubaix, France). OVH servers are located in France.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account remains active. Specifically:

• Account data: retained until account deletion
• Pet data and health records: retained until account deletion
• Journal entries and photos: retained until account deletion
• Uploaded images: deleted from Cloud Storage upon account deletion

When you delete your account through the app, all associated data is permanently removed from our databases within 30 days.

6. Your Rights (GDPR)

Under the GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

7. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data, including:

• Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
• Firebase Security Rules to restrict data access to authenticated users only
• Secure authentication via Firebase Auth and Google Sign-In
• Automatic image compression before upload
• No storage of payment or financial data

8. Cookies & Tracking

The Notes4Pets website (notes4pets.app) uses minimal cookies:

• Language preference — stored in localStorage to remember your selected language

We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or analytics tools on the website. The app does not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.

9. Children's Privacy

Notes4Pets is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at support@notes4pets.app and we will take steps to delete such data.

10. International Data Transfers

Some of your data may be processed by Firebase/Google in data centers outside the European Economic Area (EEA). These transfers are protected by:

• Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission
• Google's compliance with applicable data protection frameworks
